Christmas Cookie Recipes

The first order fluffy white powder snow always puts me in the mood to bake cookies for Christmas. In this time of year I tend to spend more hours of cooking, cooking large quantities of biscuits and sweets as music and home video game in the background. I like and I always liked the taste and smells that come from a kitchen full of love at Christmas. Here are two of my recipes for Christmas cookiesFavorites.

Gingerbread

6 cups flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 tablespoon ground ginger

1 teaspoon grated nutmeg

1 teaspoon teaspoon cloves

1 teaspoon teaspoon cinnamon

Cup shortening, melted and cooled

1 cup molasses

1 cup brown sugar

02:01 cup water

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a medium bowl, sift the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, ginger, nutmeg,Cloves, cinnamon). In a large bowl, combine shortening, molasses, brown sugar, water, eggs and vanilla. Mix well. Add mixture slowly to dry ingredients and mix well. To make the dough into 3 parts, in pieces, no more than half inch thick, wrap in the refrigerator for 3 hours or more. The paste (about 1 / 4 inch thick) on a lightly floured surface and cut into shapes (small shapes work best with this mixture.) Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Frostpowdered sugar icing (milk or cream and sugar). A word of warning about this recipe, it makes a large batch so I have many relatives and friends to share this hope.

Sugar Cookies (roll-out)

3 cups flour

1 cup sugar

2.1 teaspoon salt

1 1 / 2 teaspoon teaspoon baking powder

1 cup softened butter

1 beaten egg

3 tablespoons cream

1 teaspoon vanilla sugar

Mix butter and sugar until creamy. Add egg, cream andVanilla. Sift together flour, salt and baking powder and add to liquid mixture. Refrigerate for at least an hour. Roll about 1 / 4 inch thick with a floured work surface and cut slightly into your favorite kind of Christmas cookies. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes. If desired, place red and green sprinkles on cookies in the oven. If you prefer a family project, bake cookies, to enablecool, and a glaze of powdered sugar (icing sugar and milk). Divide the icing into several bowls and tint with food coloring and himself. Sprinkles chocolate chips, Red Exploit, and mini M & Ms can help add fun to the process of ice formation.
